2009 |
|
| General |
2009 has been widely regarded as
one of the finest vintages in decades. Very mild conditions
early in the season and a long, dry summer helped create
perfectly ripe, healthy grapes.

| Description |
This is a classic example of Constantia
Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose offers aromas of cassis
with subtle earthy, mineral undertones. The palate is
still very tightly wound and will take several years
to open fully, its ripe, compact tannin structure ensuring
many years of cellaring potential..

| Wine Record |
Careful vineyard selection followed
by berry sorting in the cellar provided perfectly sound,
ripe berries which were then fermented in a combination
of stainless steel tanks and open top wooden fermentors.
The wine spent a period of 24 months maturing in French
oak barriques before bottling in June 2011
