PINOT NOIR - no longer in production

Vintage 2005
General
Although usually associated with continental climes, our Pinot vineyard sits atop the farm overlooking False Bay. This decidedly maritime position makes for a fresh, vibrant interpretation of Pinot Noir.

Description
Dark cherry red appearance. Overt notes of fennel and liquorice lead to more perfumed, confected aromas. The judicious oak maturation is perceived more on the palate than on the nose by way of a taut, sinewy structure.

Grape Variety 100% Pinot Noir
Wine Record
Harvested at the end of February 2005, the wine was fermented in opened-out 500L barrels. Manual punch-downs and gentle basket pressing were the order of the day. From there the wine was barrel matured for 10 months before bottling.
