Klein Constania

Sauvignon Blanc 1996

Sauvignon Blanc 1996

A wonderful vintage characterized by healthy grapes and good fruit maturity due to dry, early ripening conditions.

The 1996 crop was smaller than usual resulting in intense flavours and a full bodied wine. Harvested in February, fermented in stainless steel at 15 degrees Centigrade and bottled in July.

Tasting Notes

Good colour. Complex, typically pungent sauvignon nose showing all the varietal characteristics. Herbaceous, green pepper, nettley, but also some fig and asparagus. Fresh, full flavoured, with a long finish.

We recommend this wine for drinking now, but believe it will improve with another three years in the bottle
