Klein Constania

Marlbrook 2007

Marlbrook 2007

A relatively cool vintage punctuated by rains in early March which necessitated an additional week of ripening for our red vineyards. Despite these conditions the resultant wine is full bodied with rich, ripe tannins.

Carefully selected parcels of Klein Constantia’s healthiest red grapes were small-batch vinified. Rigorous criteria during the blending process resulted in only the finest barrels ‘making the cut’. A light egg white fining preceded bottling in January 2009.

Tasting Notes

Dark ruby appearance, earthy aromas of tobacco leaf, forest floor and mocha with ripe black fruit. The palate is powerfully structured by ripe cabernet tannins yet balanced by fruit sweetness that enriches the finish.

Maturation

Will mature and improve in bottle up to 2016

Barrel Aging

Two years in French oak barrels
