Klein Constania

Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Sauvignon Blanc 2007

High winds at flowering lead to reduced yields in the more exposed vineyards. Overall, the crop was down approximately 15% this year.

An early spring, near windless conditions throughout the growing season and relatively cool temperatures lead to an excellent quality harvest with low incidence of rot and good ripeness. Blocks were individually harvested and separately vinified before blending the final wine. We focused on things like the juice turbidity and fermentation temperature in order to build weight and texture and more importantly, an ability to age once bottled.

Tasting Notes

Green appearance with subtle golden hues. Aromas of nectarines, green figs and some fine herbal character. Palate is richly textured, powerful and complex with a fine, long finish.

Maturation

Will mature in bottle up to 2017
