Anwilka Vineyards is located just 7 kilometres from the ocean in Stellenbosch’s prime Helderberg region. The property was purchased in the late 1990s and extensive replanting of 40ha of vineyards comprising primarily cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and some merlot followed.

Grapes hand-picked and sorted twice for optimal quality; gentle basket press; malolactic fermentation in new French oak or tank; aged for 19 months in 50% first-fill and 50% second-fill 400L French oak barrels.
The nose opens with aromas of ripe red fruit, oak spice, and a touch of white pepper.
Palette
The palate is bold and full-bodied, perfumed with layers of poached plums, pencil shavings, and a subtle salinity. Textured and complex, with bold tannins and a harmonious balance, the wine concludes with a long, rich finish.
